Since childhood, Alexander Mikhailovich loved chemical experiments.
As a high school student, he often experimented with pyrotechnic compositions. But once, conducting an experiment with red phosphorus, there was an accident which resulted in tearing off a finger and a half of his right hand, since then he was imbued with respect for pyrotechnic science.
And after the hat blew up on the director of the movie theater where he worked as a projectionist, he was fired from the theater. So he realized that the only way to realize his talent in a peaceful and civilized way turned out to be the cinema.
He soon found himself in the pyrotechnics department of Lenfilm, where he worked for the rest of his life, almost 30 years, and became the only pyrotechnician to have the title of Honored Worker of Culture.
He has a number of films made by the Lenfilm film studio on his account:
- Twenty Days Without War
- My Friend Ivan Lapshin
- Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson (all parts).
- They Fought for Their Country
- Trial on the Road
- Khrustalyov, My Car!
- Gunpowder
- and others...
